Energia AIL Rd 6: UCD 30 – 20 Terenure

This impressive win moved Collidge into 2^nd place in Division 1A displacing Terenure who are now 3^rd. The stand-out feature of the game was flying winger Jack Ringrose’s hat-trick which matched his brother Garry’s similar feat at the RDS .. also on Saturday afternoon.

Played in ideal conditions in front of a big UCD Bowl crowd Collidge were delighted to welcome Scott Penny and Michael Milne onto the team and went in at the break 18-15 ahead thanks to the first Ringrose try and another from Tommy O’Brien.

In the second period, Ringrose added another two tries. James Tarrant kicked 10 points .. 2 penalties and two conversions.

Members of the Thornton family attended the lunch beforehand and the match … and were on hand to see the Eddie Thornton Trophy being presented to UCD Captain Jonny Guy (see below.)

Note: The match was live-streamed through the UCD RFC Facebook page and was watched by many Collidge-connected people at home and abroad. This was a very successful initiative which will be repeated for selected future matches.
