Collidge raced into a 2nd minute 5-0 lead when returning Captain Jonny Guy raced in for the first of his two tries. Trinity equalised with a well-taken try in the 12th minute (5-7) and went ahead 15 minutes later with an unconverted try (5-12).
Approaching half time a Collidge turnover was seizes upon and quick hand put Andy Marks away for a fine try converted by David Moran. Half-time: UCD 12 Trinity 12.
A Moran added penalties in the 55th and 65th to put Collidge ahead 18-12. The visitors went ahead with a 7 pointer in the 71st minute (18-19) and 4 minutes later a Trinity yellow card was quickly punished by Tom Treacy powering over for a 5 pointer (23-19). With time running out Andy Marks ran in his second try which Moran converted.
This was a hard-fought and well-deserved win over the “old-enemy” which hopefully can be repeated for the Colours at Trinity on April 4th
